We understand that to love God with all of one’s heart, soul, mind, and strength {Deuteronomy 6:5; Mark 12:30} consists in more than just affections and feelings, although we value these as an extremely important aspect of what it means to follow Jesus as a disciple. Loving God also means that we will endeavor by the Holy Spirit’s power to be obedient to all of His commandments {Romans 8:13; 1st John 2:3-6}.<\/p>\n
We value community at CBC. Our prayer is that each member will strive to orient themselves to others by joining a community group, actively engage in fellowship, participate in weekly worship gatherings, share their lives, etc, recognizing that we have been called together in one body {Colossians 3:15; Hebrews 10:24-25}.<\/p>\n
We believe that God has gifted people with various gifts {time, talent, treasures} that should be employed for the benefit of others {1st Corinthians 12} and for the glory of God {1st Peter 4:10-11}.<\/p>\n
We recognize that the local church is the primary vehicle through which God displays His glory and wisdom, both to the world and spiritual forces {Ephesians 3:7-10}. Therefore, we will endeavor to speak of the great Triune God and the gospel through public testimonies {Psalm 40:9}, the preaching of His Word {2nd Timothy 4:1-5}, and the way we live {1st Corinthians 10:31}.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
